Jamie Brasset

Jamie studied Philosophy and Literature before completing a PhD in Philosophy (Warwick) in 1993 and has worked at Central Saint Martins since 1995. After running Contextual Studies for BA (Hons) Product Design for nine years, Jamie is now Course Director for a brand new, design-led, Innovation Management MA. Current research projects include Cyber Desire, a book discussing the philosophical outcomes for notions of self of the intimate relationships between humans and machines; Design Digestion, a project with Peter Booth (Director, Tin Horse Design) generating truly innovative design processes for FMCG brands from a critique of consumption theory. Jamie is also part of the British delegation, headed by BSI British Standards, to the EU to discuss future possibilities in the development of European standards in Innovation Management. He has experience of consultancy in design education, design practice and more recently in innovation development. Jamie has worked with DAC in their translation of theoretical innovation principles into relevant design processes; and DAC has been involved with MAIM students on number of projects, most recently stakeholder mapping on the area of business crime.
