AHRC Expert Workshop: Exploring the Cultural Value of Arts and Creativity within the Criminal Justice System
16th May 09.30-5.30
Central Saint Martins, 1 Granary Square, London, N1C 4AA (Room D115/D117)
This expert workshop involved 15 invited expert participants. It provided the opportunity to bring together academic researchers across a variety of disciplines that are concerned with art and creativity in the criminal justice system, as well as cultural value and behaviour change (leading to social change). The ambition was to share perspectives and understandings about how creating and participating in artistic and creative processes can address cultural values (in the anthropological sense of “culture as a whole way of life”) which can lead to individual behaviour change, with organisations and policy-makers active in this area.
